I can't help but wonder how cool it would be if you could play the game as a person living among the pokemon. Like you could play the game from different angles, and open it up more with different characters.
Like multiple files with each file representing a different character type.
One could be a member of Team Rocket who no longer wishes to work for them.
Another could be the aforementioned child that lives among the pokemon.
Another could be the trainer.
And another could be a pokemon like Meowth that can speak human languages.
Maybe someone could create a flash game or a hack for this. Or just a separate game in full for each one.
Anyway, awesome concept, and certainly solid advice. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
It's easier if you started from the very beginning. Then you could have just gone one generation at a time. Nowadays, if you wanna take the easy route, you get (at least) two of the games from a generation (for the game-specific Pokemon), finish both, and then migrate them up to the new generation so you have one of each.
The only problem with that is that you would run out of storage space in your PC eventually so it would probably be advisable to leave as many of your Pokemon in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum as you can and then hopefully swap 'em around between the two for storage space.
Obviously, this may not be the most ideal way to do it, but it would work, I think.
You COULD also release them once you get them to the newest generation of games, but then you'd have to recatch them and bring them up all over again if a new generation was to show up.
Fun. And also way more information that you probably wanted. Ah well. :I
